Some of the more vocal Salford residents have called it a "total waste of money" and even "propaganda". But is the criticism justified, from people who actually try it out, or is it political point-scoring and a bit of bah, humbug? Could Cllr John Merry actually be right when he said: "For many residents the economic climate has made this a stressful ...

Born To Perform

Born to Perform runs on Saturdays from 9-12 for children aged 7-16. We run for an average 12 week term and use up to 3 weeks for confidence building and technique and the remaining weeks working towards a performance shown back to family and friends on week 12.

The main difference between us and other fee paying stage schools is that we are affordable, most range from £260-300 per 12 week term - ours is £120 (this amounts to just £3.33 per hour). We are also not into promising stardom. We set realistic goals and maintain that the academy is about growing and development and not becoming famous.

About two weeks ago I went into the Tesco store in Salford.
(If you don’t know where Salford is it is part of Greater Manchester Metropolitan Area.)

I must have an anal retentive memory but the previous day I noticed
that there was a large box containing potatoes, each bag costing 78p.
Today’s price was £1.50 per bag!
