Sos Radio Project - Sound of Salford


SOS Radio is an Internet Radio Station run by the Partners People's Voice Media and Salford Foundation. This project brought young people into the project and gave them the skills, confidence and regular support to create radio shows and upload them to the internet. Most of their work is no their Home Page. http://sosradio.org.uk

Meet the team so far……. Chloe O’neil in charge of a Specialist show featuring the best in R&B as well as topical discussion on issues affecting Salford youth. Angle & Carbon present: Bassline Fridays, this show will be providing the very latest in underground exclusives from the bassline,
dubstep and grime scene including special guests .

DJ MarkRH presents: Avalanche, a show dedicated to the finest Scouse house, pop, Dance and R&B from all over the world. Kelsey’s Friday mash up: Playing nothing but the latest funky house, bassline, R&B, Hip Hop, Garage, Old School Classics. Less talk,
more music.

Craig’s all week weekend, a mix and blend of tracks to keep you partying all week long!

Radio at the Social Media Centre

Lower Kersal Young Peoples Group (Allotments)

Gardening at the LKYPG. About 10 local teenagers aged between 113-19 meet to enjoy some shared
activties. On a thursday it is maintaning their garden on Littleton
Road Allotments. The group meets at 3:30pm - 6:00pm at St Aidens Church.

Barrow street playgroup

Playgroup for about 12 kids, based at st Philips school. The playgroup for children aged 2 to school age runs Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 9.00am - 12.00pm. The charge is £4 a session and can be found in the community room that is part of st Philips school.

Albert's of Salford Senior youth club

The club runs in Albert park changing rooms, (next to the all weather pitch) and is especially suitable for over 14-25. Usually a mixture of activities are offered from sports coaching, to access to a games room that includes playstations, pool and table tennis tables, and laptops with internet access. Employed staff run the session.
The club runs on a Friday 6.00pm to 9.00pm

Screaming Green

Screaming Green was founded in 2006 by staff and students from the University of Salford's volunteering project, volunteering@salford. The project was conceived from a desire to fill the gap between theory and practice in environmental courses at the University of Salford, and to contribute to improving the environment in the city.

to do an update of the classic documentary Morning in the Streets make
