Sew Sow

Sew Sow at the energise. The group of about 12 people meet to quilt and sew and share skills and ideas with each other. The gathering is informal and is open to both inexperienced and skilled sewers. The group meet twice each month at St Sebastians on douglass green, the centre is bus stop adjecent. For those who need it child care can be provided by big steps playgroup.

Bang Drum

Bang drum at the angel. The group has about 20 people who attend and spend a couple of hours practicing for drumming performances. The group is made up of people from many places and nationalities and caters from novice and experienced percussionists. The group meets at the Angel Healthy living centre (the old eye hospital) every Thursday at 7:30pm - 9:30pm. There is a bus stop around the corner for travel access.

Bones and Scones Tea Party!

The Salford Support group from the National Osteoporosis Society will be holding a ‘Bones and Scones' tea party event at St Sebastian's Community Centre on Friday 23rd October from 1.30-4pm. The event is being held to raise awareness of healthy bones and offer support to people affected by osteoporosis. There will be tea and scones, lots of free literature to take home as well as representatives on hand from the National Osteoporosis Society, the local support group and specialist nurses from the NHS to offer and advice information on health related matters or services available to assist people affected by the condition. There will also be lots of prizes to win so come along to have a go on our tombola, raffle and Guess The Name of our calcium rich goldfish competition!!

Dance for health.

Dance for health at Marlborough road school . This is salsa dancing for beginners and improvers, no partner is required. The group concentrate on cuban salsa with occasionally some meeigue and other cuban dances, but mainly salsa rueda which is dancing in the round. Very few men attend some of the more experienced ladies take on the lead role. The group meets on a thursday from 12.30 - 2.30pm (term time only) at Marlborough road school, the high town building which is at the back on Dudley road brew.
