Smart City Futures

Time of Event:
23/07/2009 09:00 - 18:23

Smart City Futures will begin new conversations that tap into the
unrealised potential of open innovation and effective collaboration
between Universities, Industry and Government

A lack of transparency and a silo mentality had resulted in an environmental, political and economic meltdown.

Old models and accepted truths are becoming irrelevant and outmoded in a changing and connected world

New challenges call for new solutions

We
believe that Universities should act as a catalyst of change and have
decided to practice what we preach by trying something new

East Salford Community Directory

In this directory you will discover over 60 groups that run activities for themselves and others in East Salford. Within this directory which has been created by local volunteers with help from East Salford's Health Improvement team you will discover a variety of groups. Some groups just for women, some just for teenagers. Groups for people who want exercise, groups for people who want to learn new skills, groups for older residents of East Salford.

All these groups have shared information on what they do because they believe that if you join them, whether it be in making pots, learning yoga or sharing stories you will make new friends, learn new things and have fun.

In the Land of the Black Pudding

In the Land of the Black Pudding is a three part documentary for the Internet. It's about United FC at the end of the season and some of the culture that surrounds it. Community Reporter Colin Blaney takes us on a journey up North away from the old Reds into the Land of United FC who split away from Manchester United with it was taken over by David Glazer. This games sees United FC playing for a chance to go up a league.
The report is in three parts to make sure that each part is small enought to go up on YouTube. We've imported the videos to our site - see part one - part two and part three here.
