East Salford Community Directory - The unveilling of the Mapping exercise of the community groups of East Salford is almost complete. In this directory you will discover over 60 groups that run activities for themselves and others in East Salford. Within this directory which as been created by local volunteers with help from East Salford's Health Improvement team you will discover a variety of groups. Some groups just for women, some just for teenagers. Groups for people who want exercise, groups for people who want to learn new skills,groups for older residents of East Salford.
All these groups have shared information on what they do because they believe that if you join them, whether it be in making pots, learning yoga or sharing stories you will make new friends, learn new things and have fun.

On behalf of East Salfords health improvement team can i invite you to use this website, visit groups, join in activites and revel in the rich variety of activites
that are run by local people for local people. If you have any questions you can contact the helpers of this website.

BBC tours

You'll have no doubt heard about the BBC's move to Salford Quays, so
now's your chance to have a look behind the scenes at BBC Manchester
before it crosses the border to its new home. The official guided tours
include a peek behind the scenes, studio visits to Northwest Tonight
and BBC Radio Manchester, and the chance to have a go at reading the
news or the weather. Tours last approx 1.5 hours. Minimum age 12 years
old.

SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONS IN LOWER KERSAL

SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONS IN LOWER KERSAL: Groundwork are due to start their fifth Successful transitions course to be run in the NDC area on Thursday 14th of May. The course is for out of work adults and helps them gain confidence and motivation and access positive activities including further learning, volunteering and jobs!!!

The course runs for 12 weeks on Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.30-12.30. It will be running at the Lower Kersal Centre on Northallerton Road and there will be an on-site crèche, refreshments and travel expenses provided. Anyone completing the course will receive a £50 payment in High Street Vouchers and a guaranteed interview for a paid work placement in the work area of their choice!!

Health Walk - 21st April

Health Walk  Would you like to be fitter?  Be more active?   

If so come along and join us for a leisurely 1-hour walk every Tuesday starting Tuesday 21st April 11am, meet at Willow Tree Centre, Littleton Road, Lower Kersal, M7 3SE

A special garden party was held at Broughton House, Salford, home for exservicemen, to raise funds to keep the place running.
